Doug grew up in Emerson, Manitoba, and studied Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba, where he met his wife, Cathy. The Lord has blessed them with five sons and two daughters, and presently, seven granddaughters and seven grandsons!

In retirement, the Lord has opened avenues of ministry, such as teaching Discovery Time, volunteering at Union Gospel Mission, and in His service at Waverley Church as an Elder.

One of the many Scriptures from which he finds strength is Proverbs 3:5, 6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

Doug enjoys playing the piano, reading, spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and cooking.
